Hi, I’m Thea! Here’s my story:

I was a competitive swimmer. When I was 11 years old, I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and told I that I would be in a wheelchair by the time I was 16 years old. I was told not to run, jump or kick. That simply wouldn’t do for this ”extra active”, competitive soul. My mother and I researched nutrition and movement extensively to at least slow the progression. This sparked my passion for nutrition, anatomy/physiology and even opened my eyes to populations experiencing differing abilities.

In college, I became a reader for students that were visually impaired. I worked with an organization teaching students experiencing a wide variety of physical and mental abilities outdoor recreation and education. I wanted to become a Physical Therapist. Life took a few major turns. I put that dream aside and moved from home to care for my brother who had cancer.

Several years later, I became a mom and then a personal trainer. I discovered right away that I needed much more education to work with a broader population. This is where I found Stott Pilates 18 years ago and never looked back. I became a Physical Therapist Aide, in addition to my Pilates training and practice. I have enjoyed a thriving business at a private athletic club for 17 years and love what I do!

Thea’s Approach

Provide clients with the proper knowledge, encouragement and care to enjoy and get the best experience out of every class.

My approach is first and foremost: what does your body need? What can your body do, and what do you want it to do? Then, we go from there to see how to best suit your specific needs. I am highly skilled at providing a variety of options and modifications.

In the group setting, I come to each class with excitement, levity and the knowledge that you will get a well rounded, challenging, yet fun workout. I am very genuine, sometimes dorky and always humble. I am driven to help you and your body get the best experience, in every class.
