Frequently Asked Questions

How do bonus/drop-in classes work?

Bonus classes are offered once a month on Saturdays at 9:00am. Upon purchasing, you will receive an email with a Zoom invitation and link to participate. These classes are free to members, and $20.00 for non-members.

How often are classes offered?

Class schedules vary by week and month. Live stream classes are offered four times a week, Monday through Thursday. Pre-recorded classes are able to be streamed on your device via Youtube. Make sure to check the class schedule page. https://pilateswiththea.com/upcoming-classes

How do I access live classes?

Upon purchasing your membership, you will be sent an email with custom Zoom links for each class based on the membership option you chose.

Do I need to have a paid Zoom account to take a class?

Nope! As long as you get an invitation to join a “meeting” (in our case, a class) as a participant, then you do not need to have a paid account. A Zoom account is only required if you need to create your own meetings and send invitations to participants (AKA if you are the one hosting).

Should I get a Zoom account anyway?

Yes! We highly recommend it. :) To create a free Zoom account, use this link: https://zoom.us/freesignup/

Does my class limit start from the date of purchase, or each calendar month?

Class limits apply to each calendar month. For example: if you have a Starter membership, you will be allotted 4 classes per calendar month.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Please note that all memberships require an initial 90 day commitment. After the 90 days are up, you will be able to cancel your subscription at any time. To cancel, simply email yourbodywiththea@gmail.com for a refund.

What equipment do I need?

Usual equipment is as follows:

If equipment isn’t accessible, what do I do?

Substitutes are the way to go! If you don’t have dumb bells, use a heavy book. If you don’t have a block, use a stiff pillow. Get creative with it! The most important part is that you continue to move your body and give your best effort. We’re all a supportive and encouraging community here!

I’m new to Pilates. Can I still participate in your classes?

YES! You can be at any level to join Thea’s classes. Modifications are always offered, and even encouraged. The focus here is to have fun while improving your physical and mental wellbeing. :)

What is Stott Pilates?

“Stott Pilates focuses on restoring the natural curvature of the spine and rebalancing the muscles surrounding the joints. It still addresses the major principles of Pilates including breathing, concentration, and fluidity of movement- but is distinguished by its approach to postural alignment, exercise sequencing, and the use of props” (nacams.org)
